Dr Sivananthan (Dr Siva) is a general surgeon with sixteen years of experience. He has a special interest in breast, colorectal, thyroid and skin cancers; endoscopies and advanced laparoscopic procedures. 

Dr Siva is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, a Member of General Surgeons of Australia, a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a Fellow of the College of Surgeons of Sri Lanka. He is accredited with the Gastroenterology Society of Australia for gastroscopy and colonoscopy procedures. Dr Siva undertook his medical training in Sri Lanka, where he attained a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery in 2000, a Master of Surgery in 2005, and became a General Surgeon in 2007. 

After moving to Australia in 2007, Dr Siva commenced work as a General Surgeon at Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals, Queensland, in 2010, and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2013. Passionate about education, Dr Siva has held a Senior Lecturer position at the University of Queensland since 2015, supervises surgical trainees and teaches medical students. He has published papers in several peer-reviewed journals.

Dr Siva is available for consultations and procedures at Dubbo Private Hospital and Lakeview Private Hospital in Sydney. Dr Siva also holds a public appointment at Dubbo Base Hospital

He is committed to delivering the highest standards of clinical practice and patient care at all times. Dr Siva endeavours to see patients within two weeks of being referred. His international experience has proven invaluable to his work as a general surgeon.
